Hindu Funeral

The rituals and rites of a Hindu funeral depend on the sect and choice of the family. The Hindu belief is that after death the soul reincarnates into a different living form.
According to tradition, the funeral is to take place within 24 hours after death. This may not always be possible, though.

During a Hindu funeral, there is an open casket for viewing, and it will be led by a Hindu priest. Chanting and prayers will take place, but customarily there would be no eulogies. In a contemporary funeral, though, it can be a personal choice to use them.
After the service, the cremation will occur, with the body entering the process feet first. Family members should be present when possible.
